Joanna Cole is a landscape painter living and working in Sydney. She grew up on a cattle farm in South Australia and evokes in her works a sense of the vitality of the land. Using colour, identifiable shapes and textural brushmarks Cole develops paintings from sketches and plein air paintings made in rural and regional Australia: Hill End, The Murray River, Clare Valley in South Australia and Broken Hill, Dandenong and recently the urban nature around the Urban landscapes in Sydney. Cole was a finalist in the NSW Parliament en plein air painting art prize in 2018 and is currently in based at The Nest Creative Studios.
